Friday the 13th couldn’t turn out to be more horrible for this Parañaque family.

Three siblings could only watch helplessly as their father stabbed their mother to death before he turned his fury on himself and tried to take his life at their residence in Paranaque City Friday.

Handicrafts maker Rosalia Castillo, 41, died on-the-spot due to multiple stab wounds in different parts of her body inflicted by her 46-year-old live-in partner Eduardo Onido Jr., Southern Police District Station 3 (SPD-3) disclosed.

The wounded Onido, who stabbed himself in his abdomen, was placed under hospital arrest at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.

And all these, according to case investigator PO 2 Dennis Frivaldo, were witnessed by the couple’s own children inside their residence in San Antonio Valley 1, Barangay San Antonio.

Initial police investigation showed that Mara and her siblings were already sleeping when they heard a commotion at their parent’s room located at the second floor of their house.

As Castillo screamed for help, Mara Rose, 22, and her siblings rushed to their parents’ room.

But upon reaching the second floor, the children were shocked to find their mother already dead, lying in a pool of her own blood with stab wounds all over her body.

And by that time, Onido had already started stabbing himself. But upon seeing the children, Onido stopped.

Neighbors who heard the incident were quick to call the police who later collared the suspect and brought him to the hospital for treatment.
