FILINVEST City played host as Muntinlupa City broke the Guinness World Record for the most number of adults reading to children in a single location.
Headed by the Department of Education Division of Muntinlupa City, 9,500 parents read stories to 9,500 children from grades 4, 5, 7 and 8. A total of 19,000 individuals participated in the record-breaking event, which coincided with the 19th cityhood anniversary of Muntinlupa.
The story telling session was held at Filinvest City open grounds across Crimson Hotel. The parents read Robert Munsch’s Love You Forever to the children.
Participants wore red, blue, white and yellow shirts and were strategically arranged so that the aerial view produced the image of Philippine flag and city’s creed “Yan ang Tama. Yan ang Muntinlupa”.
Changhua County Government in Taiwan holds the current record for the most number of adults reading to children in a single location. The current record is 3,682 adults reading to 4,047 children.
The recording breaking event was an initiative of Superintendent Priscila C. de Sagun with the support of DepEd-Muntinlupa, Mayor Fresnedi and all the Barangays, Congressman Biazon, Filinvest City and other private companies.
