MANILA — Policemen recovered on Sunday three kilos of shabu worth PHP15 million in a fast food chain in Muntinlupa City.

Senior Superintendent Nicolas Salvador, officer-in-charge of Muntinlupa City police said Monday that the illegal drugs placed in a blue backpack was discovered by a security guard in a vacant table inside the establishment.

“An informant told them that a drug trade will happen in Filinvest City so (we) dispatched officers to the area, (but) because it is a huge area, we had a hard time in carrying out the operation.” he said.

Salvador added that Police Community Precinct 5 (PCP 5) receive a call from security guard of the fast food chain regarding a backpack containing the contraband.

Salvador said footages from the fast food chain’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera showed a woman left the backpack inside the establishment.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man attempted to get the bag.

However, the said guard confronted the suspect who left immediately after being apprehended.

“We received a call from PCP 5 regarding a security guard who confiscated a backpack at the Alabang Town Center. Based on CCTV video, there were two suspects. A woman carried the bag while a man tried to get it. The guard apprehended the man who attempted to get the bag, thinking that he is going to steal it,” Salvador explained in a phone interview.
