The Las Piñas City government started the distribution of the cash gift to about 2,000 scholars of the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Piñas (DFCAMLP) for their online education last Thursday, June 11.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said that each scholar received their initial P500 cash gift through their PayMaya card.

Aguilar said that the city government allotted P4.5 million last May 23 to support the students and the faculty members of the said school under the Blended Learning Program.

“The cash subsidy given to our scholars in the said school will be for their internet and other learning materials for their online learning while the country is facing crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic,” Aguilar said.

The mayor said that a memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between the city government and the PayMaya Philippines, Inc. and chief operating officer Paolo Azzola, and DFCAMLP officer-in-charge Eugenia Guerra. Aguilar said that under the agreement, the financial assistance will be given to the students through the PayMaya card.
