Some 50 students fainted after taking part in an earthquake drill in Parañaque City on Thursday, prompting school officials to suspend classes for the day.

But school officials said that while the students who fainted were brought to hospitals, they had recovered and doctors found nothing wrong with them, radio dzBB reported.

The students from the Parañaque National High School Tambo Extension had taken part in the drill before noon.

Citing initial information, the dzBB report said many of the students felt dizzy and were brought to nearby hospitals. School officials said some may have panicked while others may have felt ill because of the heat.
