Paranaque HS Pep Squad wins top honors in National Cheerleading Competition

Members of the Parañaque National High School Main’s cheering squad made the city proud after winning in the National Cheerleading Competition held last March 18, 2012 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

     The PNHS-Main pep squad wowed the audience and gained the nod of the judges to defeat 13 other cheering squads with a total score of 284.5 points to bag the national championship. They outscored the other teams in categories such as basic elements (46.5), tumbling (44.5), Stunts (60), Tosses (71) and Pyramids (62.5) that showcased their talents, dedication and hard work.

     Immaculate Concepcion Academy won 2nd Place with 262.5 points and St. Joseph’s Academy placed 3rd with 260.5 points. The other schools which participated are Collegio San Agustin-Biñan, Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School, Taguig National High School, CAA National High School, Banga Nationa High School, Lake Sebu National High School, Laguna College of Business and Arts, Las Piñas East National High School-Main, Rizal High School, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (IBED), and School of Saint Anthony.

     The PNHS Warriors Pep Squad is composed of Grecella Cruel, Katherine Deleon, Angela Gacusan, Angelica Marie Heramis, Andrea lea Mendiola, Marielle Joyce Noynay, Christian Vanessa Olea, Keycielene Paguio, Aprilyn and Palomar, Joshua Acebes. John lloyd Aldo, Michael Alvarro, Daryl Balderama, Eudes Kendricks Balubar, Delvin Mark Cabogoy, Kem Cagoyong, Chino Catalino, Keihl Dela rosa, John Rey R. Dioso, Jomari Fundales, Saturnino Gogol, Paolo Hilapo, Ariel Juanico, Elpidio Mesana, Jonas Opeñano, Axll  Pallasigui, Edmond Parado, Christian Puda, Jonathan Ramil and Jerico Ramirez). The team is coached by Alex Calubay Cerno.

     City Officials of the city government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe provided support for the team. “We congratulate the PNHS Warriors Pep Squad for winning top honors in the National Cheering Competition Finals. They are a pride of their school and our city.” Mayor Bernabe said.
