Manila, Philippines –  A prosecutor in Parañaque City has ended the preliminary investigation of the murder and frustrated murder charges filed against Gail Bautista Furuyama, a sister of slain actor Ramgen Revilla, and her husband, Hiro Furuyama.

Assistant Prosecutor Bert Fabros submitted the case for resolution last Monday. The case was filed last December. The decision will either exonerate the couple or include them in the ongoing court trial against the seven original accused in the crime.

Gail and Hiro were charged with murder and frustrated murder by Revilla’s girlfriend, Janelle Manahan, as principals by inducement for Revilla’s death and the attempt on her life.

Manahan was with Revilla on Oct. 28, 2011 when a gunman barged into the actor’s room inside their house in BF Homes. The assasin shot Manahan in the face before shooting and stabbing Revilla (real name Ramgen Bautista) to death.

Gail is the third Revilla sibling implicated in the actor’s death. Ramona and Ramon Joseph Bautista were also charged by the police for being the alleged  masterminds.

Manahan used the sworn affidavits executed by four of the seven accused to file the case before the prosecutor’s office. She claimed it was Hiro who drove Ramona away from the house after the crime.

She added that Ramona, Ramon Joseph, Gail, and Hiro “had been seen on several occasions handing out money, driving vehicles to bring contracted killers to the Bautista family’s house… meeting with contracted killers, and providing information on Ramgen’s movement, among others.”

Ramona has fled to Turkey after recanting her statement that Revilla’s killer abducted her. Ramon Joseph is detained at the city jail together with his five co-accused.

The seven accused and the Furuyama couple have all denied participating in the crime.
