Let’s get fit in Paranaque!

As part of its ongoing campaign that promotes a healthy lifestyle, the Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. reinvigorated its “Hataw Fitness”, a 45-minute aerobic exercise session that is held every Friday from 7:00AM to 7:45 AM at the city hall grounds.

Launched last year by the City Health Office headed by Dr. Olga Virtusio, the program provided city officials and employees an opportunity to get a good exercise without paying gym fees. The program was temporarily halted during the election season.

Resuming on May 28, 2010, the revitalized morning aerobics presented more intensity, variety, perks and had more people participating in the session. Apart from the members of the “diabetic club”, Health Office personnel and employees from the different departments, health centers in the 16 barangays each sent three of their people to join in. As in the preceding sessions, participants promptly returned to their respective work stations at the end of the dance workout, on or before the start of business hours (before 8:00AM).

“Health is wealth! We will continue with these aerobic exercise sessions to provide our employees with more ways to be healthy for a better, happy and long life and greater productivity at work in the service of our constituents.”, Mayor Jun Bernabe said. (Public Information Office)
