Courageous girl from Paranaque recognized

Following the approval of Parañaque City Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 12-010, Series of 2012, this city’s local government unit headed by Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. recognized on Monday, 05 March2012 an 11-year old girl for an act of courage.
    

Cited was Rodelyn Molina who despite her injuries rescued another girl during a fire that ensued after a light cargo plane crashed on December 10, 2011 in a community at Lower Taiwan Ext. in Brgy. Don Bosco, this city. The fire killed 13 persons, injured 15 others, damaged 1 public elementary school and 30 houses and displaced 40+ families composed of 100+ household members. 

     Molina suffered third degree burns and was initially treated at the Makati Medical Center and was later transferred to the Florencio V. Bernabe, Sr. Memorial Hospital, Parañaque’s public hospital where she, on orders of Mayor Jun Bernabe was admitted in an airconditioned room.

    “Rodelyn’s act is a shining example of uncommon courage and fierce determination to save others even If she comes to harm’s way. We commend her for this selfless act and urge our citizens to develop this quality and come to the aid of fellow citizens in times of great need as in disasters like this one. ”, Mayor Jun Bernabe said.

     The Parañaque City Government initially paid the P1.4 hospital bill which the PCSO reimbursed.
