BF depositors can now claim their money

Good news for the depositors of the closed Banco Filipino Savings and Mortgage Bank (BFSMB)! The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has started conducting Claims Settlement Operations (CSO).

In a letter to Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr., PDIC Senior Vice-President Sandra Diaz said that CSO has been scheduled from June 15 to 29, 2011 at the BFSMB-Alabang at 384 East Service Road, Muntinlupa City and from July 25 to August 10, 2011 at the BFSMB-Parañaque at Elsie Gatches cor. Elizalde St., BF Homes, Parañaque City.

PDIC representatives will be at the payout sites during office hours from Monday to Friday to pay deposit insurance claims and entertain queries of depositors.

Claimants are advised to bring their Claims Status Sheets (CSS) issued during a prior claim receiving operations and the two (2) valid IDs photocopies of which were submitted during the filing of the claim.

If the depositor is a minor, he/she must present the original and a clear photocopy of his/her birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office or duly certified copy if issued by the local civil registrar.

If the person making the claim is not the signatory in the bank records, he/she should submit a duly notarized or authenticated Special Power of Attorney executed by the depositor.

Pursuant to the provisions of R.A. 3591 (PDIC Charter) as amended, the last day for the filing of claims for insured deposits in BFSMB is on March 18, 2013.
