Las Piñas reactivates price control council

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the immediate reactivation of the city’s price control council after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) directed all local government units in Metro Manila to strictly impose a 60-day price ceiling on pork and chicken.

Aguilar immediately ordered the city’s price control council, including the market master, and Dr. Michael Basangan, chief of the City Veterinary Office and head of City Agriculture, to conduct inspections in mall supermarkets, public markets, and talipapa’s in the city.

Basangan was also directed to ensure strict implementation of the 60-day price ceiling.

The mayor said violators will either be issued a show-cause order or have their licenses suspended.
