MANILA, Philippines — Two gunmen shot dead a bank employee on Wednesday morning in Las Piñas city, police said on Friday.

The victim was identified as Marjorie Reyes, an employee of the Philippine National Bank. Doctors at the Perpetual Help Medical Center declared her dead on arrival after bystanders rushed her to the hospital after the attack.

PO2 Bobbe Imbo, case investigator, said the victim was standing in front of a fast-food restaurant in Pamplona around 6:30 a.m. when two men, onboard a motorcycle, cruised past her and shot her in the chest.

Witnesses were not able to recognize the gunmen who sped away from the crime scene, Imbo said.

The police officer said they have not narrowed down the list of possible motives to the killing.

He refused to disclose the leads police have been working on, explaining this could jeopardize the ongoing inquiry into her death.

“But we have interviewed some witnesses regarding the killing. They just have to execute an affidavit,” he said.

Imbo said Reyes was president of the homeowners association of Veraville subdivision in Las Piñas.

This is very alarming. Whatever the motive is, it’s scary that anyone can just shoot you anywhere and in broad daylight. Let’s all be careful and Alabang Bulletin hopes that the people responsible for this incident be brought to justice. — Editor’s Note
