Alleged salvage victim’s body found in Las Pinas lot

MANILA, Philippines – The body of a man, said to be a victim of summary execution, was found at a vacant lot in Las Piñas City before dawn yesterday.

Witness Arnel Espinosa, 15, a resident of Chesa Dulo street in Barangay Talon Uno, told police investigators that he was walking home at around 2:40 a.m. when he stumbled upon the body in a grassy lot along Mangga Road Dulo. He immediately called the police station to report the matter.

Police described the victim as 5’8” tall, medium built, with fair complexion, and wearing denim shorts and a white sando.

Police Officer 3 Paul Diaz said the victim’s head had been wrapped with a plastic bag, both hands tied with a nylon cord and the victim’s neck bore strangulation marks.

Senior Superintendent Amado Clifton Empiso, Las Pinas Police chief, said they are conducting a follow-up investigation on the case. – Rhodina Villanueva
