Election days are usually holidays – Comelec

Those who want Oct. 25 to be a holiday, let us all cross our fingers.

In a news item today, Alabang Bulletin found out that the Commission on Elections is about to ask Malacanang to declare Oct. 25 a holiday so that Filipinos can vote in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

“Kapag halalan po, dini-declare po na holiday iyan. Hihingi tayo ng isang EO para maging holiday ang election day,” Comelec spokesman James Jimenez revealed.

Everyone (well, almost) loves a long weekend (Oct. 25 falls on a Monday)!

But we hope people really vote on that day.

In our area, we haven’t seen candidates campaigning. Heck, we don’t even know our candidates.

But let’s focus first. Oct. 25 might be a holiday:)
