Paranaque City upgrades lab services

As part of its service upgrade, the Laboratory Division of the Parañaque(cholesterol, HDL/LDL/VLDL, Triglycerides), kidney profile (BUN, Creatinine, BUA) SGOT and SGPT.

The service boost was made possible through a partnership between the Parañaque City Government and the private sector.

The tie-up was based on the recommendation to Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. by City Health Officer Dr. Olga Virtusio and Special Services Chief Mr. Dean Calleja. City employees, public school teachers, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWD) and indigent residents certified by the Parañaque DSWD can avail of a special discount.

The new blood chemistry analyzer will debut in a diagnostic session for the benefit of 100 senior citizens who will be selected throughout the city. The blood tests will be done for free. “It is our desire to modernize and upgrade all our services.

With the fully automated blood chemistry analyzer, the Laboratory Division of the City Health Office can speed up blood analyses and double the number of persons served.

More than that, the persons submitting themselves to the diagnostics can be assured of accurate, fast and reliable laboratory services.”, Mayor Bernabe said.

Before undergoing laboratory tests, Parañaque Laboratory Division Chief Medical Technologist Joycelynn Aman urges individuals to coordinate beforehand with her office for patient preparation and testing requirements like fasting for 12-14 hours in case of Triglycerides detection, etc. (Public Information Office)
