The Muntinlupa City government will put up an engineering college for city and non-city residents.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the groundbreaking ceremony of the college on June 6 at Posadas Avenue, Sucat together with local officials, national agency officials and state university professors.

Colegio de Muntinlupa is set to open in 2018 and will be headed by college administrator Dr. Teresita Fortuna, former regional director of the Department of Science and Technology-National Capital Region (DOST-NCR).

The college will initially offer five engineering programs: BS Civil Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering and BS Mechanical Engineering.

Fresnedi said Muntinlupa residents who qualify for CDM programs will receive subsidy from the city government through the Muntinlupa Scholarship Program, while non-Muntinlupa residents will be paying tuition in full.
