Munti LGU to construct public columbarium, viewing chapel

The City Government of Muntinlupa is set to construct a public crematorium, columbarium, and viewing chapel in Muntinlupa City Public Cemetery for indigent residents.

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the ground breaking ceremony for the three-storey columbarium amounting to P39.7- million last April 17 together with other local officials.

Initially, the columbarium will have 7,200 slots.

The local exec said the columbarium will improve the burial assistance of the local government.

He added that the project aims to provide opportunity for indigent residents in Muntinlupa to have a decent burial for their dead.

Fresnedi noted that the City Government’s thrust is to deliver services from “womb-to-tomb” as public programs addresses concerns from infancy to death.

A viewing chapel and crematorium will also be constructed in the 6,705 sq.m facility.
