According to City Administrator Rey Balagulan, Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the adjustment of curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Balagulan also said that with President Duterte’s extension of general community quarantine in the National Capital Region (NCR) up to June 30, the public must observe the the strict implementation of city ordinances including the mandatory wearing of face masks and observing social distancing in public places, and the prohibition against loitering.

He added that Aguilar also ordered the creation of a task force comprising members of the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) under Willy Gaerlan, which with the assistance of the city police, will conduct random checks on all dine-in restaurants and fast food chains to determine whether they are following the health protocols released by the Department of Trade and Industry.

The city administrator added that Aguilar strictly ordered the task force to check whether dine-in restaurants were only catering to about 30 percent capacity.

Balagulan said the mayor also wanted to determine whether dine-in restaurants mostly located inside the malls in the city were conducting disinfection on their premises, following social distancing rules, using thermal scanners, and providing rubbing alcohol for customers to disinfect with before entering their establishments.
