MANILA, Philippines–Passport services have become more accessible for those residing in or near Muntinlupa City with the Department of Foreign Affairs-National Capital Region (DFA-NCR) opening a consular office at an Alabang mall.

The DFA-NCR south office was unveiled last Friday at the fourth floor of the Alabang Town Center. The facility would process new passport applications and renewals, and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Appointments could be set online at http://alabang.passport.com.ph, or through the DFA Appointment System hotline (02)737-1000.

“We are very grateful as we have been requesting this for some time, to meet the need of our constituents,” said Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, in a statement.

The mayor noted that the facility would prove a convenience not only to those residing in the city, but also those coming from southern Luzon provinces.

Before the permanent DFA office, Muntinlupa only enjoyed Mobile Passport Services, wherein DFA staff would visit the city quarterly to process a certain number of passports for release within the day, Fresnedi said.
