Woman killed in Las Piñas

Manila, Philippines – A woman was killed while her sister was rushed to the nearby hospital after an unidentified motorcycle man peppered them with bullets Monday morning in Las Piñas City.

 

Sr. Supt. Rodolfo Samala, Jr., Las Piñas police chief, identified the fatality as Guilma Bathan, 52, of Hawaii St. Camella Homes 2-A, Bacoor, Cavite. She was brought to the Alabang Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body. The injured victim identified as Bathan’s sister Ma. Victoria Rendor, 42, of Blk. 3 Lot 12 and 14 Villa Antonina, San Nicolas Dos, Bacoor, is still being treated at the same hospital brought by a bullet that grazed her back and right arm.

Both Bathan and Rendor were owners of a company manufacturing plastic located at Doña Josefa Village, in the city.

 

According to reports submitted to Samala, the incident happened at around 10 a.m. Monday in front of Doña Josefa Village, Pilar Road, Almanza Uno.

 

Reports showed that Bathan was on board a Honda Civic (WCL-484) driven by her sister Rendor on their way to the company office when armed gunman aboard a motorcycle blocked their path.

 

The armed suspect fired several shots at the right side of the car hitting Bathan in the process and was instantly killed. (Mitch Arceo)
