Woman jumps to death in SM Southmall yesterday

AN unidentified woman in her mid-50’s jumped to her death from the third floor of SM South Mall  yesterday afternoon in Las Piñas City.

Las Piñas Police chief Sr. Supt. Romulo Sapitula said the victim was rushed to the nearby Las Piñas Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival due to multiple fractures and head injuries.

Investigation showed the woman was seen walking at the 3rd level of South mall past 4 p.m. When she reach (sic) the center atrium, she immediately climbed to the stainless railings and jumped to her death.

Witness told police that the woman earlier tried to grab the hand of a two-year-old girl.

The girl managed to ward off the woman and run away.

Sapitula said they are still trying to establish the identity of the victim and still waiting for her relatives to claim her body at the hospital morgue.
