Where to watch the Pacquiao-Mosley fight in Paranaque

In support to the “People’s Champ” Manny Pacquiao and for the entertainment of local fans, the Parañaque City Government headed by Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. arranged for the free showing of the Pacquiao-Mosley title fight in selected venues in the city’s First and Second Districts.

The live streaming of the upcoming WBO Welterweight title match was negotiated by the Parañaque Youth and Sports Development Office (YSDO) headed by Mr. Louie Perez and the Office of Councilor Benjo Bernabe with franchise holders, service providers and barangay officials.

“Parañaqueños, will once again join the nation in supporting our “Pambansang Kamao” who has brought pride and honor to the country by his many victories and outstanding display of skill, discipline, sportsmanship and patriotism.  We are confident that he will once again emerge in triumph.” Mayor Bernabe said.

Pacquiao is the current WBC Super Welterweight Champion and WBO Welterweight World Champion and is currently ranked as the No.1 Pound for Pound Best Boxer in the world by various sports publications. Sugar Shane Mosley on the other hand is an accomplished fighter with world titles in three weight divisions and is the former WBA Welterweight Super Champion.

The title fight will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada in the morning of May 8, 2011 (Philippine time).

The city government has already started the preparations including the setting-up of wide screen equipment at the following showing sites: Don Bosco, Don Galo and San Antonio gymnasiums. Inquiries may be made with the YSDO at 2/F Parañaque City Hall.

It will be recalled that in 2005, Manny Pacquiao was accorded the title of Adopted Son of Parañaque by virtue of City Resolution No. 05-024 series of 2005 in recognition of his achievements and considering that he has properties in the city.
