Mobile patrollers of the Muntinlupa City Police Station on Monday apprehended two individuals who allegedly tried to ship the illegal drug methamphetamine or “shabu” to Davao Del Norte via courier service.

Those arrested were Sally Labios Gonowon and Jessica Bautista Braganza of Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa, who allegedly hid illegal drugs in a package filled with groceries.

The drugs were discovered by Oliver Ocampo, an employee of the logistics company LBC, who immediately called for police assistance.

Responding police officers seized four sachets of suspected shabu, each containing or less 5 grams of the illegal drug.

In the initial interrogation, the two suspects — Gonowon and Braganza — claimed that a certain Abie Bautista Escamos and a certain Nognog, of Barangay Bangayan, ordered the seized package to be sent through LBC.

The cops are conducting follow-up operations to arrest the person who was supposed to receive the package in Davao del Norte. — Joseph Tristan Roxas/VVP, GMA News
