Traffic rerouting in Las Pinas for Undas 2015 bared

It is all systems go for Las Piñas City for orderly and peaceful observance of Undas (All Saints’ Day) on Sunday, November 1, in terms of security and vehicle rerouting scheme in public and private cemeteries in the city.

Mayor Vergel ‘Nene’ Aguilar said police assistance desks and emergency medical station and a composite team manned by Las Piñas disaster risk reduction and management office (LPDRRMO) and volunteer groups will be posted within St. Joseph Cemetery (Pulanglupa) and Golden Haven Memorial Park starting October 31 up to November 2.

A re-routing scheme, one-side and no parking policy will be enforced along Tramo Road from Zapote to E. Aldana and C-5 Road. Traffic chief, P/Senior Inspector Albert Arevalo, said vehicles coming from Brgy. CAA-BF Int’l., passing J. Aguilar Avenue going to Naga Rd. (Pulanglupa I) shall turn right to Tramo and exit to C-5 Rd., for their destination to Golden Haven or Manuyo cemetery.

The stretch from Naga Rd., corner Padre Diego Cera Ave., along Pulanglupa Elementary School and a Catholic cemetery will be temporarily closed. Likewise, a one-side parking policy will be enforced along Tramo from Brgy. Zapote to Manuyo I, and a no parking rule on the stretch of P. Diego Cera Ave., from Pulanglupa I to Manuyo I. The portion of Naga Rd., from corner of Tramo and P. Diego Cera Ave., where St. Joseph cemetery is located will be no-entry for all types of vehicle.

Uniformed policemen will be deployed on the main entrance of the cemeteries to conduct inspection for deadly or bladed weapons, alcoholic beverages, sound systems and other related prohibited items.

“I appeal to our kababayan for their cooperation with the policemen and barangay tanod on duty for a peaceful and orderly observance of Undas,” the mayor said.

Aguilar likewise called on the people to remember their departed without polluting the environment and observe “ecological responsibility” as they troop to cemeteries to pay respect for their dearly departed.

“Our time-honored tradition of remembering the dead should not defile our Mother Nature,” he said.

Last year, the city’s environment and sanitation office reported a remarkable decrease in trash disposed during the observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day, citing the repeated call of the mayor for a clean, orderly and peaceful observance of Undas. (END)
