Real Property Tax holiday declared in Paranaque

The residents of Paranaque City are so delighted and pleased upon hearing the declaration of the “tax holiday” for RPT or Real Property Taxes by City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.

Atty. Lino Sandil, City Council Secretary, in accordance to enacted Ordinance No. 09-15 Series of 2009, “An ordinance of providing for financial relief through a tax holiday for a limited period to owners of real properties in the City of Paranaque”, as proposed by City Councilors Florante Romey, Jr. and Giovanni Esplana, under the direction of Hon. Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr., stated that all owners of undeclared /misdeclared real properties who voluntarily declared them for tax purposes before March 31, 2010 shall only pay the basic tax without penalties or surcharges for the last five (5) years instead of paying the tax due thereon for the last ten (10) years as provided under Section 222 of the Local Government Code of 1991.

Likewise, delinquent real properties which has not yet been issued notice of delinquency by the City Treasurer’s office, may likewise pay their back taxes without penalties or surcharges until March 31, 2010.

Tax mappings will be conducted in the City of Paranaque to determine real properties which has not been declared for tax purposes after March 31, 2010. In such case, the owners will have to pay back taxes for the last ten (10) years as stated in the tax law of 1991. (Public Information Office)

    How many years will have to be paid if the real property taxes have not been paid in over 20 years for a house? There was a delinquency notice from around 20 years ago. Would all 20 years need to be payed or just the last 5 or 10 years?
