Paranaque to provide more jobs to its residents

AS part of its on-going commitment to provide more work opportunities to its constituents, the Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. is continuing its “Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers” (T.U.P.A.D.) program in the City.

This was announced by Parañaque Resource Livelihood Management Office (P.L.R.M.O.) head Ms. Doris Marquez and Youth and Sports Development Office (Y.S.D.O.) adviser Carlo Bernabe to workers under the TU.P.A.D. program during the releasing of their salaries at the Executive Lounge in City Hall.

The continuation of the program was made possible through the collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (D.O.L.E) and the City Government, P.L.R.M.O. and City Councilor Benjo Bernabe because it provides extra income for workers under the program.

The latest batch of workers who were from the City’s First and Second Districts did various jobs such as cleaning of city sidewalks, maintenance of plant boxes in traffic islands and clearing of drainages.  It was announced there will be another T.U.P.A.D. program scheduled this July.

“Since its implementation, the T.U.P.A.D. program has benefited both city and the workers as they are now able to earn extra income by in cleaning and maintaining the City’s infrastructure.  We believe that such a program is vital in helping our unemployed and under-employed constituents make ends meet, hence the reason for our support to continue the program,” Mayor Bernabe said.

T.U.P.A.D. was launched in 2009 by the D.O.L.E. and the City Government to provide part-time jobs for unemployed and under-employed resident in the City.  Apart from T.U.P.A.D., the City Government through the P.L.R.M.O. continues to hold job fairs to help residents find employment and offers livelihood courses to provide training to those who want to have certain skills to find a job or start their own business.
