Paranaque Ko, Love Ko! to be launched

 The Parañaque City Government, supported by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro Manila Mayors’ Spouses Foundation (MMMSFI) will launch its “Parañaque Ko, Love Ko! Program” on August 12, 2011 at the Executive Lounge of the Parañaque City Hall.
 
     Parañaque Ko, Love Ko! aims to make the city litter and smoke-free in line with local legislations and national laws and programs and in support to global efforts to curb smoking, pollution and despoliation of the environment.
 
     The speakers for the program launch will include MMDA Deputy Chairman Usec. Alex Ramon Cabanilla; MMDA Gen. Manager Usec. Corazon Jimenez; Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.; P’que Cleanliness & Beautification Program Chairperson Ma. Fe “Girlie” Bernabe;  ABC President Teodoro Virata, Jr.; Don Galo Barangay Chairperson Marilyn Burgos; SK President Camille Manansala; Solid Waste & Environmental Sanitation Office Chief Mr. Wilfrido de Ocampo; Special Services Officer Mr. Dean Calleja; Save the Parañaque River Fdn. President Mr. Manny Erni; and Local School Board Head Ms. Angie Libera.
 
     Apart from the national and local government officials in the guest list, the event will also be graced by spouses of Metro Manila mayors who, apart from their membership in the MMMSFI personally head the cleanliness and beautification campaigns in their respective locales.
 
     “The City of Parañaque is one with the MMDA and the MMMSFI in the commitment to maintain tidy surroundings, clean air and restored environs to improve community livability; promote the health of the citizens and protect the environment.”, P’que Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
 
     Program highlights include the signing of the “Panata sa Kalikasan” (Pledge of Commitment to the Environment) and the turnover of “kariton” (pushcarts) to homeowners associations for their cleanliness and beautification and garbage recycling for trash volume reduction campaigns.
