Parañaque Employees Cooperative posts new successes

The City of Parañaque Multi-Purpose Employees Cooperative (CPMEC) registered new gains with an increase in its financial assets from P 6,004,504.90 in 2008 to P 7,629,001.17 in 2009, likewise in its credit services from P 7, 828,644,.35 to P 9,469,427.03.

On this account, the said cooperative realized dividends totaling P227, 435.43 and was able to extend loans to 807 of its members.

According to CPMEC Chairperson Engr. Armando Arsenio, these gains are due to the dedication of its officers; patronage by its members; diligence of the staff; and support given by the City Government.

“Cooperatives have done much to improve the lives of our constituents. I commend the officers and members of CPMEC for a job well done.”, Parañaque City Mayor Jun Bernabe said. The local chief executive added that he will continue to support CPMEC and the entire cooperative movement for the good they have done to the citizens and outstanding contributions to the growth of the city.

CPMEC has won awards such as Best in Capital Build-Up and Membership Education and 2nd Runner-Up in the Micro Category during the PLRMO and PCDC Search for Most Outstanding Cooperative of Parañaque. It was also awarded the Certificate of Good Standing and was cited by the City Health Office for supporting the DOH Blood Program with five (5) bloodletting sorties.

Recently, the CPMEC published its Manual of Operations, CPMEC Primer, Membership Policies Primer and Credit Policies Primer. It participated in and conducted 18 trainings and seminars. It enacted 24 resolutions for the benefit of its members and continued improvement and stability of its organization.
