Paranaque City is ready for Semana Santa

On the orders of City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr., the Parañaque PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection and barangay government units raised their alert level during the Holy Week.

Apart from mobile patrols; security details in churches and religious processions; and checkpoints in major thoroughfares, the P’que PNP will also set up a 24-hour motorist assistance center at Roxas Boulevard cor. MIA Road.

For their part, Barangay Tanod squads will be increasing the frequency of their foot patrols in the communities.

Like always, the Parañaque Emergency Response Unit (P.E.R.U.) of the City Health Office will be on 24/7 duty.

“The incidence of fires and burglaries are known to rise during this most sacred of occasions when whole families go to pilgrimage sites or visit relatives in home provinces leaving their places of residence unattended. It is for this reason that we have placed the Parañaque PNP,BFP and BGU barangay tanod and disaster brigades on heightened alert.”, Mayor Bernabe said.

Meanwhile, the local chief executive urged citizens to make sure that their houses are secure from robbers and safe from fires before proceeding to their destinations.

He also encouraged next door neighbors to report to their barangay government unit and to the said protective service bureaus any suspicious activity or occurrence in their community.
