Orientation for small business held in P’que

The Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE) MuntiParLas Field Office in cooperation with the City Government of Parañaque conducted an orientation for owners and managers of small business in the city on Friday at the Parañaque City Hall.

 

Dubbed as “Orientation Course on Technical Assistance and Advisory Services for Small and Micro Entrepeneurs”, the orientation was designed to help managers and owners of small businesses with less than ten workers and those registered as Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMEs) in creating a program for productivity enhancement, enterprise development and compliance to labor standards.

 

Said orientation was coordinated by the Parañaque Livelihood Resource Management Office and the Office of Councilor Benjo Bernabe.

 

DOLE Sr. Labor and Employment Officer Ephrain Concepcion discussed the labor standards on wages, benefits, employees’ occupational health and safety, social legislations (SSS, Philhealth, Pag-IBIG) and management’s reporting requirements.

 

Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Administrative Assistant Marilyn Advincula discussed the “Industrious, Systematic, Time-conscience, Innovative, strong Values work ethic (ISTIV) Bayanihan Productivity Enhancement Program for Micro-Entreprises”. ISTIV is a values-driven program for barangay micro-business enterprises aimed at achieving productivity through teamwork between employer and employees.

 

Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) Proj. Dev’t Officer Manny Baroso talked about the ECC provisions for compensation for absences, disability and death due to work-connected accidents and illnesses.
