The Muntinlupa Police opened its new headquarters in Barangay Tunasan, touted as state-of-the-art and biggest in the National Capital Region.

“In my 34 years of service, it is only today that I witnessed this high-quality headquarters. It should be a model HQ for the Philippines,” lauded Police Director Oscar Albayalde of the National Capital Region Police Office.

He graced the inauguration of the building on Wednesday, January 25 together with Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, Police Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario Jr. of the Southern Police District, and Muntinlupa Police chief Police Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador.

The 2,214 square meter police headquarters, built at a cost of P78 million, was funded by the Muntinlupa City government. It boasts shock-resistant window panes, 51 CCTV cameras with a command center, rain water collector units, and detention cells for 80 persons. Its roof deck has barracks and recreation area for police personnel.

Based on the latest survey of the National Police Commission, the Muntinlupa City Police ranked second overall as most trusted and respected station in the NCR behind Pasay.

Muntinlupa is followed in the survey by Mandaluyong, Navotas, Malabon, and Pateros; Caloocan, Pasig, Taguig, and Makati; Manila, Valenzuela, Parañaque, and Quezon City.

Of the 570 respondents under the jurisdiction the five NCR police districts, 66.7 percent trust and respect Muntinlupa City Police, which also placed third in the ranking on response and accessibility of NCR police stations.
