NDRRMC: 400 Muntinlupa families lose their homes in fire

At least 400 families were made homeless when a fire razed a residential area in Muntinlupa City Saturday night, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Sunday afternoon.

In its update, the NDRRMC said the fire at Purok 7 in Poblacion in the Marquez Compound also caused at least P2.5 million in damage to property.

The NDRRMC said the fire started at 6:20 p.m. and was declared out at 10:09 p.m.

As of Sunday, it said the Office of Civil Defense provided 700 sleeping mats, 300 mosquito nets and 100 water jugs to the victims.

It also provided 250 storage boxes, 100 six-gallon water containers and 200 blankets to the affected residents.

The NDRRMC did not indicate the cause of the fire. — DVM, GMA News
