Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has wrapped up a P50-million scholarship package for Muntinlupa students and 85 Kawasaki motorcycles for the city’s police force and other agencies.

“We are not only giving to those who are in need, but our people can be sure that the City Government will be there for them, by giving services that will help them improve their lives,” he said, referring to the city’s adopted towns in Leyte following destruction due to typhoon Yolanda.

Muntinlupa and Rep. Rodolfo Biazon worked out the delivery on Nov. 27 of food, clothes, medicines, generator sets and chainsaws along with P5 million to jumpstart rehabilitation along with P575,000 contributted by city officials and employees.

At least 30 volunteers from Ospital ng Muntinlupa, the health office, fire department and rescue unit assisted survivors in coordination with Jaro Mayor Rolando Celebre and Alangalang Mayor Loreto Yu.

Fresnedi said P50 million in educational grants for students from elementary level to college was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod for release in January next year.

The motorcycles were matched with communication equipment in time for boosting security in the city during the long holidays.

Meanwhile, he urged residents to take advantage of the tax relief before the year ends.

“The opportunity to pay your real property taxes without the penalties can be considered a real Christmas gift, so we encourage property owners to pay your taxes now before the amnesty ends,” Fresnedi said.
