Muntinlupa Mayor says no to minors

Are you an establishment in Muntinlupa that employs minors? Watch out.

This warning came from Munti Mayor Aldrin San Pedro last week after he found out that the Muntinlupa Police rescued a 16-year-old girl working as a guest relations officer (GRO) in a girly bar in Barangay Tunasan.

“I will not tolerate this kind of abuse of minors, especially on women. Children must not be treated as cash cows or mere commodities,” said the angry mayor last week, again reiterating his warning that those found guilty of the crime will be punished with the full brunt of the law.

The young girl was rescued from Badul Grill and Resto Bar along the National Road, said the police, who were with people from the Women’s and Children’s Protection Center, DSWD and Business Processing and License Office when they raided the said establishment.

They said they received a tip that the bar was employing minors who also lacked the needed permits.

Arrested in the raid were Monette Ota, supposed owner of the bar, and club manager Marilet Villasca after they were also found out operating without a business permit.

The establishment has now been shut down.
