More school buildings up in Las Piñas

Construction of additional school buildings and health centers in Las Piñas are being rushed to accommodate the growing number of students in the city’s public elementary and high schools and enhance efficiency of health services for the residents.

Budgeted and with on-going construction are additional four (4) storey 12 classrooms for the elementary school at TS Cruz Subdivision in Barangay Almanza II and another four (4)-storey eight classrooms building at Las Piñas National High School. A two-storey health centers on Saging Street, Brgy. CAA-BF Int’l., and at Golden Acres Subd., in Brgy. Talon I. This makes a total of 33 health facilities serving the residents in the city’s 22 barangays.

The new buildings are among the 33 new infrastructures this year that include two-storey pre-school center on Fatima Subd., in Brgy. Zapote, bringing to 80 the overall number of daycare centers in the city where kids enjoy totally free-tuition and nutritious snacks.

Mayor Vergel ‘Nene’ Aguilar said that new projects point toward strengthening education by providing more modern facilities to address the growing population in the city’s public schools. This is complemented by road network improvements to hasten economic growth.

“We aim to provide only quality and efficient services to the public in spite of our limited resources and enhance viable livelihood opportunities for everyone,” Aguilar said.

These development projects are on top of the 45 infrastructure projects completed early this year that cover concreting, rehabilitation and/or repairs of 19 road networks in various parts of the city; rip-rapping works on Las Piñas river, creeks and waterways; construction of multi-purpose building; upgrading of drainage system in six (6) critical areas; repair and rehabilitation of barangay halls; and installation of streetlights.
