Human remains recovered from septic tank in Parañaque

The decomposing remains of at least two people were recovered from a septic tank in an abandoned building in Barangay Moonwalk in Parañaque City Friday afternoon.

One of the remains recovered from the tank bore signs of being bound at the hands, according to a report by radio dzBB’s Nimfa Ravelo.

“Ang estimate ko one month yung nakagapos,” said a medico-legal officer of the National Bureau of Investigation who was at the scene.

The remains of the second person were also recovered from the septic tank.

However, Parañaque City police chief Senior Superintendent Andrei Felix cited information the remains of a third person were in the tank.

It was not immediately known if the remains were those of a male or a female, the report said.

Felix said he was informed by the NBI earlier in the day that they were conducing “surveillance” operations.

The NBI also made arrangements to enter the compound where the building is located.

In December 2011, human remains believed to be those of a missing woman were found inside a septic tank in an abandoned house in Aklan province.

The remains at the time were believed to be those of the wife of a local businessman. — RSJ, GMA News
