Drug Suspect Arrested in Muntinlupa

MANILA, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher was arrested while P300,000 worth of shabu was seized by anti-narcotics operatives during a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa City.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Dionisio Santiago identified the arrested suspect as Andrew Kim Mercado, 20, a resident of No. 613 Argana St., Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.

Santiago said Mercado was arrested during operations conducted by operatives of PDEA’s Metro Manila Regional Office (MMRO) led by Director III Wilkins Villanueva Monday afternoon in Barangay Poblacion.

Villanueva said they also seized 10 plastic sachets containing shabu which weighed a total of 45.2 grams.

The PDEA official said an operative posing as a buyer bought the confiscated shabu which was worth a total of P300,000.

He noted that Mercado is a member of the Nancy Anduru Drug Group, which operates in Muntinlupa and other nearby cities and provinces
