Barangay Ayala Alabang clarifies real cause of Daanghari flooding

After issuing a statement yesterday and getting backlash and the blame for the flooding along Daanghari Road, Barangay Ayala Alabang chairman Ruben Baes came to the defense of Ayala Alabang villagers.

“As of today, Ayala Alabang is being crucified for the traffic on Daanghari for not opening our drain out of the overflowing sewer waste and causing heavy traffic.

The council agreed we will hold the block until the Las Pinas authorities are able to locate the source of the unauthorized draining of sewer waste on their side.

The council stands on the idea that it will flood our village with this waste and finally drain out and contaminate our Laguna Lake which is the source of our drinking water.

The city of Muntinlupa has an ordinance to protect all our waterways and under the LGU General Welfare Act, to protect the health and hygiene of its constituents.

So, please bear with us. The problem is not with us. It’s outside and on their side.

We were informed that they are in an emergency and still investigating.”

Apparently, the real cause is on the Las Pinas side.

DPWH personnel have been seen in the area and everyone is just hoping the matter will be solved already so that passing by that portion of Daanghari will be a breeze and dry again.
