Two children drowned while swimming in a pool in a Muntinlupa City condominium, a report on GMA News’ “Balitanghali” said Thursday.

According to the victims’ father, he left his children, aged 4 and 7 years, under the care of relatives so he could buy food. He found them lifeless when he returned.

The victims’ parents are planning to file charges against the management of the condominium. They said no lifeguard was stationed near the pool.

The management of the condominium has yet to release a statement regarding the incident as of posting time.

Meanwhile, the management of the condominium released a statement regarding the incident in a separate report on GMA News’ “QRT” program.

“It is with great sorrow that we sympathize with the families of the deceased, and would like to extend solemn condolences and prayers for their eternal repose,” it read.

“Rest assured that the entire management team continuously strive to uphold the best interest of our residents and their guests, in accordance with the standard safety procedures and guidelines as mandated by law and local government agencies,” it added.
