INVESTIGATORS handling the slaying of the bodyguards of Banco Filipino owner Albert “Bobby” Aguirre will coordinate with officials of Police Security Protection Group (PSPG) in gathering information about one of the victims.

Senior Supt. Romulo Sapitula, chief of Las Piñas City police, said they learned that PO2 Luisito Macatunao of PSPG, was not officially assigned to protect Aguirre but was staying inside the compound owned by the businessman.

“Nalaman namin na hindi pala siya itinalaga ng PSPG para magbigay ng proteksiyon kay Mr. Aguirre kundi sa secretary nito, pero doon siya sa compound naninirahan. Lahat ng anggulo dito sinusuri namin, pati ang posibleng inggitan sa trabaho,” Sapitula said.

He said they will again summon Fernando Aribon, personal driver of Aguirre who witnessed the incident but was spared by the suspects and was able to run upstairs.

Earlier, Aribon said that he was able to run upstairs when the suspects opened fire at security guard David Manguerra and retired SPO2 Melvin Padaca who tried to get his firearms inside the car parked at the compound.

Aguirre was at the second floor during the gun attack.

Yesterday, police investigators again made an ocular inspection of the Aguirre mansion at 1015 Tropical Avenue, BF International, to gather more evidence. They were met by Atty. Carmelo Mendoza, legal counsel of Aguirre, and was able to interview relatives of security guard Manguerra.

Sapitula said they are seeking the assistance of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to be able to enhance the license plates of two sedan cars and a taxi cab used by the suspects that was captured by close circuit television (CCTV) camera at a nearby establishment.
