Wow, Paranaque posts revenue increase again!

The Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. has posted a revenue percentage growth of 17%  with an increase of P183,601,052.87 from the total collection of taxes, fees and charges of P1,265,722,858.22 covering the period January to June, 2010 compared to the P1,082,121,805.35 revenue collection from January to June, 2009, it only made.

The development was reported during the presentation by the City Treasury Office headed by Ms. Jesusa Cuneta in the recently concluded 3-day Workshop on the Formulation of the Executive-Legislative Agenda and conference for the city’s 5-year Comprehensive Development Plan; Capacity Development Plan; Gender and Development Plan; and the Annual Investment Plan at the Holiday Inn, Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga.

The revenue gain was credited to the city’s continuing efforts to encourage citizen and corporate taxpayers to pay their dues diligently; introducing taxpayer and business-friendly programs; elimination of red tape; ban on fixers; and computerization and networking of income generating and support departments.

“We could not have attained such an increase in revenue collection without the vigorous efforts of our city officials and employees and the support of the various sectors that comprise the community.  Thank you all and God bless!” Mayor Bernabe said.

Last year, Parañaque City made a milestone after being ranked number one among the local government units in the National Capital Region by the Bureau of Local Government Finance after posting a 110.7% collection efficiency rating; and exceeding targets for four major revenue sources in 2008.
