Some 40 families in Paranaque evicted

From ABS CBN:

MANILA, Philippines – Over 40 families in Parañaque City lost their homes after a local court ordered their eviction Wednesday.

By virtue of an order released by Parañaque Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 274, Sheriff Jeffrey Sales executed the ejection of some 40 to 45 families living in Sitio Fatima, Kawayanan Parenthood Homeowners Association in Barangay Don Bosco.

Tension arose between authorities and residents, with some throwing rocks and glass bottles.

Eric Agulay, a crew member from broadcast station TV5, sustained an injury on his hand after being hit by a shard of glass.

Resident Errol Santillan, on the other hand, accused Sales of punching him after he tried to go back to his house.

The team of Sales eventually succeeded in implementing the eviction order before noon.

Sales said the order was supposed to have been executed last December 2010. – Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
