P’que starts permits renewal

Establishment owners, administrators and representatives came in droves to the Parañaque City Hall on January 02, 2013 to renew their business permits. They opted to work on the permits early rather than get caught in the rush as the January 20, 2013 deadline looms.

Similarly, employees in Parañaque-based companies promptly submitted their applications for individual working permits and health certificates.

At the forefront of the annual processing of business permits are the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO); City Treasurer’s Office; and the Electronic Data Processing Office (EDP).

Forming the support group are the City Planning Office; City Assessor’s Office; Tourism Office; Office of the Building Official; and the City Health Office.

Also in the city’s “one-stop-shop system” in business permits processing are the Parañaque Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); Parañaque Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PqCCI); local units of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);  Social Security System (SSS); and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-Ibig).

The requirements for business permits renewal are the following:  1)Barangay clearance (original copy); 2)Real property tax (land and building, if owned) or contract of lease and lessor’s permit (if rented); 3)fire clearance; 4)ITR or audited financial statement for 2011; 5)VAT/Non-VAT returns 2550/2551 M/Q (current) for 2012; 6)sales breakdown with branches; 7)Social Security System (SSS) registration; 8)Authorization letter, ID of applicant and authorized representative.

For new businesses, the owner or representative must secure locational, building, fire and tourism  clearances and sanitary permit in addition to the basic requirements.

For individual working permits, applicants must secure the following requirements: 1)Police clearance; 2) residence certificate (cedula); 3)two ID pictures; and 4)health certificate.

“We urge all business establishments and employees to file their applications early to avoid the rush. Our employees stand ready to assist applicants to ensure the fast processing of their permits. Our systems and facilities have been improved a great deal and geared for fast and accurate processing. Apart from the convenience and comfort in our modern air-conditioned service lounges, we provide newspapers, magazines and other reading materials and offer taxpayers free snacks and refreshments. They can also watch their favorite TV programs while waiting for their turn.” Mayor Jun Bernabe said.

“We also to take this opportunity to thank the business community, the other sectors that comprise the locale and the citizens for continuously supporting the city’s economy, progress, development and growth.”, he added.
