P’que pushes medical, socialized housing projects

To aiming improve medical services to the public, the Parañaque City Government under the administration of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. started the construction on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 of an additional wing for the Florencio V. Bernabe, Sr. Memorial Hospital, this city’s public hospital.

      The proposed 6-storey community hospital extension will increase the system’s capacity by 28 beds in private rooms and 75 beds more in its charity ward.

      Meanwhile, R.I. Dist 3830 Rotary Homes Foundation; Maynilad Water Services Inc.; CFC ANCOP-Tekton Foundation; Gawad Kalinga;  City Government of Parañaque; and the Save the Parañaque River Foundation broke ground on Monday, February 13, 2012 to start Phase 1 of its socialized housing project at the 4.2 hectare lot along the C-5 Ext. Road in Paranaque City. Said project is intended for the relocation of families who settled along the banks of the Parañaque River which is classified as a danger zone.

     The initial stage of this project will see the construction of the first 14 units with the process of building proceeding until the target of 1000+ units is met.

     “With the expansion of the facilities and services of our community hospital, we will be able to provide better health care and maintain a healthy population.  With the aid and support of our community partners, we will be able to provide decent homes for our marginal sector. With these and many more projects we will be able to uplift living conditions in the city.”, Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
