Paranaque residents now have more reason to smile

AS part of its campaign to promote better health services and improve employee productivity, the Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. will start with the 2010 edition of its dental health program for city employees and their dependents early next month.

Dubbed as “Kapamilya Ko, Sagot Ko” which is part of the city government’s “Serbisyong Totoo” program and in line with the celebration of the National Health Month, the dental mission will be held on February 10, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm at the Parañaque City Hall grounds.

The activity is organized by the City Health Office under Dr. Olga Virtusio and is coordinated by the Dental Division headed by Dr. Marissa Banta. 100 city employees and their dependents are due to benefit from the said service.

Included in the service package are free dental consultation and examination as well as tooth extraction. Employees who wish to avail of the free services must register to the City Dental Division before February 8, 2010.

“Dental care, being mistaken as an expensive health service is often set aside by low-income families. Cognizant of its direct relation to nutrition, general well-being and employee productivity, we give our employees and their beneficiaries the opportunity to gain access to dental care for free, as we do for the other citizens of our city.”, Mayor Bernabe said.

The Mayor also reminded residents that tooth problems can be avoided by observing basic dental hygiene as well as making monthly consultations.

Last year, the city government issued additional new dental chairs and dental equipment to the health centers of the city’s 16 barangays in the effort to improve the service and further promote dental health. (Public Information Office)
