Rotary International is a non-political volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace.  About 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas conduct projects to address today’s challenges – including illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, and environmental concerns – while encouraging the development and maintenance of high ethical standards in human relations and in all vocations, embodied in “THE FOUR-TEST of the things we think, say or do”: 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOOWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

During his term of office, Rotary Gov. Limon adopted “Save the Parañaque River” as a Rotary International District 3830 project and encouraged all Parañaque Rotary Clubs to actively source funds and undertake activities towards the cleaning of the banks of the river and relocating the informal settlers out of the said “danger zone”.

Meanwhile, Rotary Gov. Isidro Garcia continued with this environmental project and expanded its scope to include the building of decent homes for the families who will be displaced from their abodes along the bank of the Parañaque River and the establishment of holistic communities in partnership with various organizations including the City Government of Parañaque through the creation of District 3830 Rotary Homes Foundation, Inc.

“Rotary and the Parañaque City Government have long been partners in progress. Together, they have implemented projects that redounded to citizen empowerment and welfare and community development. As we honor outstanding Rotarians, Governors Edgardo Limon and Isidro Garcia, I thank the entire Rotary Community for its unwavering support to the City of Parañaque whose encouragement serves as my administration’s strong anchor to incessantly work in the direction of growth and development. I always look forward to a continuing partnership with the Rotary Community.”, Mayor Jun Bernabe said.
