MANILA, Philippines – Authorities on Tuesday announced the arrest of three suspected members of a drug syndicate and the seizure of P30 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in a raid in Parañaque City early this week.

National Capital Region police office Director Roberto Rosales said authorities launched a drug bust on April 18 in Doña Soledad, Better Living, Parañaque City, leading to the arrest of William Chua alias Sunxiao Xu, 25, Andy Hong alias Wenxian Hong, 32, and Kim Sy alias Xiuqin Shi, 29.

The drug bust also led to the confiscation of 7.5 kilos of shabu amounting to P30 million, as well as marked money amounting to P20,000.

Rosales said police earlier received information that Chua, already implicated in operating an illegal drugs laboratory in Cainta, Rizal that was dismantled last 2009, was again operating, this time in Metro Manila.

“After receiving the information, I directed the immediate case build-up against the suspects which led to this successful buy-bust operation,” Rosales said.

The three suspects were brought to the City Prosecutors Office for Violation of Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Dispensation, Delivery, Transportation) in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy) and for Violation of Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
