Pamaskong Handog in Parañaque relaunched

WITH the holiday season now upon us, the Parañaque City Government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. has re-launched the “Pamaskong Handog” for the year 2009 where the city government will be distributing groceries and food stuff to the marginalized residents in the city’s 16 barangays.

Done annually, this year’s edition was started on December 7 and will conclude on Dec. 19. Project implementation was placed under the supervision of the Mayor’s Office, Parañaque DSWD under Mr. Dean Calleja and the Office of the Secretariat headed by Ms. Liberty Florendo as part of the city government’s efforts to spread the joys of Christmas and share blessings with the less-fortunate.

“Everyone deserves a joyful celebration during the holidays which is the reason why we hold the “Pamaskong Handog” every year as a small contribution of the city government to bring joy to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.”, Mayor Bernabe said.

The mayor added that apart from helping spread the holiday cheer, the activity is also an opportunity for him to meet constituents and hear their thoughts and views on what they feel needs to be attended to in the city.

In a related development, Parañaque City employees thanked Mayor Jun Bernabe for the early payment of their 13th Month Pay and Cash Gift. Like constituents, they too will receive their Christmas package consisting of assorted foodstuffs such as rice, ham, noodles, cheese among others.(Public Information Office)
