No booze in PNoy Inauguration party

Although we know people from the South will be lazy to go because it’s too far, here’s a friendly reminder from the PNP for tomorrow’s celebration.

From GMA News:

To ensure the celebration does not get out of hand, police will enforce a liquor ban during the street party of President-elect Benigno Simeon Aquino III at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City on Wednesday.

In a radio interview Tuesday, Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina appealed to prospective party-goers to be considerate towards fellow revelers.

“Pakikiusapan natin ang ating kababayan na tayo dadalo doon upang magsaya. Hindi papayagan ang lahat na nakalatag na security ang nakainom na o pag-inom ng nakalalasing na inumin sa loob (We are reminding party-goers they should be considerate of other people at the street party. The security at the Quezon Memorial Circle will not allow liquor inside the premises),” Espina told dzXL radio.

Aquino is expected to join the street party Wednesday night, after his oath-taking at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila and a Vin d’Honneur in Malacañang.

Espina said security will be tight at the Quezon Memorial Circle, with security personnel checking participants for potential weapons, including blades.

On the other hand, he said police will be on the lookout as well for potential troublemakers.

Police will also deploy personnel to residential areas to thwart burglars and troublemakers who may exploit Wednesday’s occasion.

“Hindi natin kakalimutan ang pagroronda at pagpatrolya ng kapulisan sa bawa’t lugar kung saan sila na-assign. Tuloy ang patrol sa residential areas (We will not forget the patrols and regular rounds in residential areas even on such an important occasion),” he said. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
