Muntinlupa is first LGU to host the Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of Stars; City Hall issues reminders to residents

All is set for the Parade of Stars in Muntinlupa City!

As part of the Metro Manila Film Festival and the Muntinlupa Centennial Celebration, the Parade of Stars will happen on Dec. 23, 2017.

The parade starts at 1pm at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex and will pass by Centennial Road, through National Road from Poblacion up to Block 30 then stops at the Vivere Hotel.

Please take note of the road closure below:

ROAD CLOSURE : National Road (Susana Heights – Slex Alabang) 12:00 noon
PARADE: From 2:00 pm onwards

ROUTE: From Muntinlupa Sports Complex – Filinvest Events Grounds via National Road

“We are asking everyone’s understanding and patience and we would like everyone to plan their shopping or vacations with the event in mind,” appealed Muntinlupa City Hall last week.

Coincidentally, Muntinlupa will be the first LGU to host the MMFF.

“Please be advised that the stretch of the National Road from Tunasan (Susana Exit) to Filinvest Alabang Muntinlupa City will be temporarily CLOSED starting 12noon onwards of Saturday, December 23 for the Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of Stars 2017. Kindly take alternate route and or use instead the provincial road (baybayin) to ease travel. Immediately the roads will open as soon as the parade ends. Pasensya na po sa abala. Salamat po sa pakiisa…. God bless!!!” expressed Muntinlupa traffic officials.

Residents who wish to watch the star-studded parade are asked to stand by the sidewalks or they can wait and watch in Block 30.

The event is open to all with a first-come-first-serve basis and a separate line for the first 3,000 residents possessing Muntinlupa Care Cards.

The following reminders are also announced:

1. Please leave children three years old and below
2. Senior citizens are just asked to stay home and watch on TV
3. PWDs are also encouraged to remain in their homes
4. Pregnant women and those with hypertension are also not encouraged to attend
5. Backpacks are not allowed. Only transparent bags will be allowed.

“Our aim is for everyone to enjoy and for everyone to be safe,” the organizers explained, adding that portalets and food will be available inside Block 30.

Muntinlupa City Hall is also appealing to its neighbors from San Pedro and Binan to refrain from passing the National Road so as also for them not to get caught in traffic.

Roads will immediately be opened as soon as the parade ends.
